Tasty Treats

Caterers have taken some “Tasty Treats” to the next level. Prior to the main course, call it a “Pre-dinner Snack,” caterers are pre-setting reception tables with small silver or glass bowls filled with herbed olives or a selection of cheeses. They’re a big hit with guests. Once a wedding reception begins it could be 15-30 minutes before the first course arrives so these savory nibbles will keep your guests’ hunger at bay during welcoming announcements and while seating is taking place.

Click here for a link to Saira and Toby's wedding from February 17th. Brian Tsai is a great photographer and loves to travel. If you are interested in his work for one of our destination weddings - you will not be disappointed. He travels all over to document weddings.

Here is a list of some of the players:

There were so many beautiful parts to this wedding and I am thrilled to relive it through these pictures.

Amy and Paul, Westin La Cantera

Here are a couple of pictures taken by Dana. I forgot to mention to email Dana if you need anything while I am out. She is a very capable planner.

Even wedding planners take a vacation!

It is Spring Break and where do we go - the Beach! Here is my view from my lounger earlier today. This is the same view I have had since Sunday. This is the beautiful Emerald Coast in Florida

View from my chair to the right.

View from my chair up above. Diego and My Little Pony kites.

My youngest, Diego, playing Frisbee with 4 hot college girls from 'Bama.
Already a ladies man at the tender age of 4.
I didn't take pictures of the girls, not really appropriate clothing for a family style blog.

Look at the gorgeous weather - and all the space. College girls on the right (notice how I cut them out of the picture)

A Regal Affair Baby

Dear Diary - I am up late tonight because I just got in from Amy and Paul's glorious wedding. I am too tired to post pics or give any details................but I do want to show everyone the pictures I received today from Melissa and Robert, married 12/2004.
He was born 2-27, via C-section after a wonderful 30 hours of labor. Way to hang in there Melissa! Many blessing to your new family.

Dear Diary, I am starting to feel sad...

because tomorrow is the wedding of Amy and Paul...and it will end over a year of planning, blood, sweat and tears (not literally blood, only sweat and tears!).

But diary, I am also very happy, because like many other past clients (worth mentioning here: Dana & Thomas, Amy & Paul of NYC, Saira & Toby, Kendra & Corey, Melissa & Scott, Deborah & Dan, Bonnie & Gal and many many more) I have gained two beautiful souls as lifelong friends. Jaz (my husband) and I have a lot of love for these two. We remember the excitement of our own wedding and how their focus although often on details of the wedding, has really been on preparing for a lifelong committment. Even one of kids said he couldn't believe Amy and Paul were finally getting married (inside joke: about 4 months ago, Amy was over and Antonio had other plans, but we were busy planning stuff...when she came over the next time, he said, "isn't she married yet!?") I got a little tinge in my gut during the rehearsal. I was trying to play it off and be cool chatting up with their photographer, holding one the bridesmaid's baby, but it didn't work. I was verklempt. It is all the more special because they are marrying in our personal place of worship, St. Anthony Mary Claret, where we have baptized our children and they have received their First Communion.

So diary, I better close for tonight and rest up, as I will be busy, helping my two new friends go down that path I went 13 years ago. Many years later, I still very happily married I have felt SO LUCKY. We wish them well and can't wait until tomorrow.

Here are some pictures of Amy and Paul, Jaz and I wish you many years of happiness and many beautiful, healthy chidlren in the near future.
Check these out. These are the table numbers for the reception. Your own sneak peak and you saw it here first.

We are thrilled to see Christian again. He has been called the “Yves Saint Laurent of flowers!” We worked with this past fall with a beautiful wedding in Paris and looking forward to working with him again this summer. If you ever want to splurge on a vase, I recommend his Diablo vases. It is a gorgeous square vase, hand blown glass and shimmery in nature with a nice hole in the middle. They come in various sizes and colors. I put sweet peas in mine. I tripled boxed it for the flight home from Paris.

I've already passed on the word to Eva Longoria and Tony Parker for their French wedding this summer. Hopefully, they'll take advantage of this great designer.

Check on our website in a couple of weeks to see Christian's work from this past fall.

In the meantime, any of you in the Dallas - Fort Worth area should support the museum and attend one of these events. I'll be there!

Inexpensive Decor - Instant Ambience

Prayer candles - altar candles are a nice and inexpensive way to fill voids in various ceremony and reception locations. Line the pathways, place them in every window sill, nook and cranny.
